Botanical Name: Camellia sinensis

Extraction Method: Cold Pressed

Processing Type: RBDW (Refined, Bleached, Deodorized, Winterized)

Obtained From: Seeds

Origin: China

Description: Camellia sinensis is a shrub of the evergreen variety. It grows best in cooler environments with wet soil and can grow to 6m (20 feet) tall and 4.5m (15 feet) wide. The fresh seeds are collected in mid to late fall when the seed capsules are ripe. The ripe seeds can then be pressed to yield Green Tea Seed Oil that has a long history of use in medicine, cooking, and cosmetics.

The Yunnan province in China is thought of as the historical origin of the Camellia sinensis plant. Emperor Shennong of China is said to have discovered tea in 2737 BC, but its widespread use is due to the Buddhists that adopted it into their spiritual practices. China also unlocked the amazing cosmetic potential of Green Tea Seed Oil. Its rich contents of Antioxidants, Vitamins A and E, and Essential Fatty Acids are known to help lighten the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, soothe acne-prone skin, and protect the skin against environmental elements. Damaged hair and dry scalp can also benefit from the excellent conditioning properties of Green Tea Seed Oil.
