When applied topically, Lavender (Natural Blend) Essential Oil offers antimicrobial properties to soothe minor skin irritations. The Lavender plant is a woody evergreen shrub, reaching up to 1 meter in height. It features pale green, narrow linear leaves and violet-blue flowers. The plant is densely covered with oil glands housed in star-shaped hairs across its entirety. Lavender has been used since ancient times, the Romans added it to their bath water, hence the name from the Latin lavare, "to wash".
