DESCRIPTION
The only thing bittersweet about Orange Bitter (Sicily) Essential Oil is its characteristic scent. Derived from the citrus aurantium plant in southern Italy, it has a sweet, citrus scent with warming, bitter notes similar to grapefruit. With a high d-Limonene content, it soothes and balances skin and hair. Known for cleansing and air-purifying properties, Orange Bitter Essential Oil is ideal for freshening spaces and promoting a cheerful atmosphere.
The Bitter Orange tree is an evergreen that grows up to 30 feet high (approx. 9 meters) with glossy dark green leaves and fragrant white flowers. The essential oil is produced by cold pressing the peel. The Bitter Orange is native to southern China and North-Eastern India. While the Bitter Orange and edible orange trees bear a great resemblance to each other, their leaf stalks show a noticeable difference: the Bitter Orange is much broader in the shape of a heart.
