DESCRIPTION
When skin and hair are due for “dew”, Glycerine Vegetable – USP 99.7% comes to the rescue. Its humectant quality is a microscale phenomenon that soaks up and seals moisture. Glycerine Vegetable is a transparent, colorless, and unscented viscous liquid derived from the oils of plants such as coconut, palm, or soy. It’s used as an agent in cosmetics, shampoos, soaps, and other household items. With emollient-like properties which can smooth and soften the skin, this invaluable natural source ingredient assists the skin’s surface to retain moisture. One of the most popular cosmetic additives used today, it’s also known as Vegetable Glycerol or simply Glycerol, and is sometimes spelled Vegetable Glycerin.
Our Vegetable Glycerine is a Kosher product derived from palm, and is GMO- and allergen-free. Glycerine is the result of a sophisticated extraction method called hydrolysis. This system is based on the fats and oils of a raw product (typically palm or coconut) that are then split into crude Glycerol fats, under the combined action of water, temperature, and pressure. These temperatures can exceed 400°F (over 204°C) and the material is usually kept under pressure for 20-30 minutes. What is actually occurring is a sort of counter-flow where the water absorbs Glycerol from the fatty acid phase of the oil production. After this phase this Glycerol is isolated and further distilled to give buyers a standard 99% Glycerine product (our New Directions variety is minimum 99.7%).
Please note that the drum tap will not work for Glycerine Vegetable – USP 99.7% – Raw Material as its consistency is too viscous.
DIRECTIONS & SUGGESTED USAGE
- Dusk to Dawn Serum: To make an overnight serum that helps conceal the look of acne-prone skin, combine ½ teaspoon Glycerine Vegetable – USP 99.7%, ½ teaspoon Orange Blossom Water, and 4 drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil to create a serum. Apply it to acne-affected areas of the face and leave it on overnight. Rinse off the serum in the morning. Patch test to ensure skin compatibility.
- Renewing Body Wash: Mix equal parts of Glycerine Vegetable – USP 99.7% and sugar in a cup, then add 3 drops of Aloe Vera Juice. In the shower, apply this blend to your skin, massaging it into a lather for a few minutes before rinsing off. This natural exfoliant removes dead skin cells and promotes a healthier, more radiant complexion.
