DESCRIPTION
Despite its prickly beginnings, the distillation of evergreen needles and twigs eventually becomes Spruce Essential Oil – Hemlock. This oil delicately refines and tones sensitive skin, making it a gentle choice for skin care routines. Balsamic mid-notes blend effortlessly with cedarwood, pine, and citrus oils, making it a perfect choice for soothing aromatherapy blends and beauty products.
Commonly referred to as Hemlock, a large evergreen tree that grows up to 50 meters tall (50 feet), it produces small brown cones and has an estimated life span of 1,200 years; it is very similar to White Spruce, with slight differences. Historically, Indigenous communities heated the branches in steam baths called sweat lodges. By boiling the twigs and cones in maple syrup, they also made a type of beer.
