This constituent is also known by the name Citral-A. This alpha citral is found in plants such as Geranium and Lemongrass. During the maturation of Ginger, its Geranial content increases and this is believed to boost the nutritional value of Ginger. It has the light, fresh, and sharp scent of Lemon.
